From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a colorful mix of heroes, and a gripping narrative including celestial beings, evil spirits, and sinister influences increasing in influence within Dol-Makjar.
Note: Revealing details for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 are included.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The third episode ended with a major cliffhanger and introduced the first table of heroes who will branch out from the main group to embark on their separate journey, separate from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team features Teor (brought to life by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (the cast member), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Given an extensive roster, it was clear from the start that keeping everyone at the same party would be impossible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, connecting the personal journeys before branching into three distinct groups: Warriors, Schemers, and Seekers.
What Defines the Combat Party
Per the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for players who are drawn to a classically intense combat and conflict-driven story mode where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might appear out of place, but the developments of episode 3 demonstrate why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the group knows exactly where to go next after a brutal initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose death started the story’s plot—used The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, breaking into the hidden lair, assaulting Thimble, and taking all the powerful objects to sell off.
The antagonist then settled his obligations and ran away to a fortified location in the remote area, beyond the urban center, with Cyd pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each character has a personal reason to exit Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, desires revenge.
- The adventurer knows the region and cautions that it is a dangerous environment.
- The warrior and Wicander, having resisted his family’s wishes to execute the target and instead freed him, have no other options.
- However, their status as prominent individuals in House Halovar could enable the team access places they usually can’t.
- Additionally, Teor pledged a eternal obligation to The savior for his deliverance and will now go with him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are wanted by the rulers that control Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making staying in the city dangerous:
- Thimble and The hero are known criminals.
- The strong figure and The cleric defied the influential house and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the clan.
This means them few options but to head to the northern region in pursuit of the antagonist.
Upcoming Developments
According to the recent installment’s follow-up content, we learn that the Soldiers table will be absent next week, leaving the remaining eight players to round up the Questers and Planners parties.
Audiences can look forward to discovering which players will be in which group in the season’s final introductory chapter, released on October 24.
